COURSE CURRICULUM

The Leading, Managing and Developing People module is a 20-credit core component of the MSc Human Resource Management programme that develops the knowledge, skills, and professional capabilities required to lead, manage, and develop people effectively in modern organisations. The module recognises that managers and leaders play a crucial role in creating productive, ethical, and high-performing workplaces, and therefore focuses on the strategic principles of people management, leadership, and human resource management. Students explore key concepts and contemporary practices in HRM and human resource development (HRD), examining how effective leadership and people management contribute to organisational performance, employee engagement, and long-term business success. The curriculum develops an understanding of people management from a strategic perspective, enabling students to evaluate how HR policies, leadership approaches, and workforce development initiatives support organisational objectives within dynamic and rapidly changing business environments.
