Nursing and physiotherapy programmes are strongly regulated professional pathways, centred on patient safety, clinical placements, and progression towards registration with bodies like the NMC or HCPC, so their modules focus heavily on anatomy, pharmacology, evidence-based practice, leadership in healthcare, and extensive supervised placements across hospitals and community settings. Occupational therapy sits between these in a more holistic way, focusing on enabling daily living and rehabilitation through applied psychology, anatomy, and practice placements across health and social care environments. Policing and criminology degrees combine law, investigation, and social science, with modules on criminal justice, investigative methods, cybercrime, and criminological theory, often supported by volunteering opportunities like special constable schemes or police support roles to build employability.
