COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business Management programme provides a comprehensive learning experience that develops students’ knowledge of global business, economics, finance, data analysis, and strategic management across three years of study. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation in international business by studying microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative analysis, finance, organisational behaviour, and global business with sustainability. They learn how markets operate, how businesses develop pricing strategies, and how economic conditions influence business decisions while strengthening their analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills. Students also gain experience in interpreting economic data, analysing market trends, and understanding the impact of global economic developments on business strategy. In the second year, the programme focuses on developing practical analytical and financial management skills through modules in data analysis, corporate finance, applied intermediate macroeconomics, and international project management. Students learn to use software such as Microsoft Excel for economic and business analysis, collect and interpret real-world data, apply statistical techniques, and communicate analytical findings effectively. Optional modules allow students to broaden their expertise in areas such as sustainable enterprise, financial management, digital and social media, creativity and innovation, employee development, or undertake a study abroad opportunity to gain international experience. In the final year, students develop advanced strategic and global business capabilities through modules in international economics and sustainability, international business strategy, comparative international human resource management, and sustainable development with international business law. They examine international trade, foreign investment, global financial systems, multinational business operations, foreign exchange, international institutions, and sustainability while exploring the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for responsible global business. A range of optional modules enables students to specialise in areas including international banking, marketing across cultures, international entrepreneurship, corporate governance, financial statement analysis, international purchasing and supply chain management, and business performance appraisal. Throughout the programme, students strengthen their research, data interpretation, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills, preparing them for careers in international business, finance, consulting, global trade, business development, economics, multinational management, and other leadership roles within organisations operating in increasingly complex and interconnected global markets.
