COURSE CURRICULUM

This BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management programme combines hospitality operations with business management, sustainability and strategic leadership to prepare graduates for careers in the global hospitality and visitor economy. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation through core modules including Understanding People in Organisations, Hospitality Societies, Business Environment of the Visitor Economy, Current Scenarios, Future Directions, Project Design, Planning and Management, and Service Experience Co-Creation. These modules introduce organisational behaviour, hospitality systems, project management and customer experience design while developing an understanding of how hospitality contributes to the wider visitor economy. In the second year, the programme focuses on operational excellence, commercial performance and sustainable business practices through core modules such as Social and Sustainable Enterprise, Hotel Revenue Management, Sustainable Hospitality and Leisure Operations, and Marketing Research. Students examine how hospitality businesses can balance profitability with environmental and social responsibility, while also developing expertise in revenue optimisation, market analysis and innovation. Optional modules in areas such as data analytics, digital and social media, financial management, sustainable supply chains, venue design and creativity allow students to tailor their studies to specific career interests. In the final year, students develop advanced strategic and leadership capabilities through modules including Global Business and Strategy, Innovation and Concept Development in Hospitality, Luxury Hotels and Resorts, and an Independent Study. These modules explore international business environments, strategic decision-making, innovation in hospitality products and services, and the management of premium hospitality experiences, while enabling students to undertake independent research on a topic relevant to the industry. Throughout the programme, there is a strong emphasis on applied learning, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, sustainability and leadership, supported by real-world case studies and industry-focused projects. Graduates leave with the knowledge and professional skills required for management roles across hotels, resorts, restaurants, hospitality groups, visitor attractions and leisure organisations, as well as broader careers within the international visitor economy or progression to postgraduate study.
