COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management and Tourism programme provides a comprehensive learning journey that develops students’ knowledge of business management, tourism, sustainability, and strategic leadership across three years of study. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation in core business disciplines by studying organisational behaviour, operations and supply chain management, business economics, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. They learn how organisations operate, how employee behaviour influences workplace performance, and how management theories can be applied to solve real business challenges while developing analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. In the second year, students combine business management with specialist tourism knowledge by exploring sustainability, responsible management, destination management, niche tourism, business data analytics, employee engagement, and personal and professional development. They examine ethical leadership, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, climate change, environmental responsibility, global social responsibility, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while developing an understanding of how tourism destinations can be managed sustainably and how tourism businesses can create long-term economic, environmental, and social value. The final year focuses on advanced strategic management and tourism applications through modules in global business and strategy, business applications in e-tourism, sustainable tourism planning, leadership and management development, and a business consultancy project. Students analyse international trade, global economic trends, strategic management, digital technologies in tourism, and sustainable tourism development while strengthening their research, analytical, project management, leadership, and decision-making skills through real organisational projects. The consultancy project enables students to apply business and tourism knowledge to solve practical challenges faced by organisations, enhancing their professional and employability skills. Throughout the programme, students develop critical thinking, innovation, commercial awareness, digital capabilities, and leadership skills while learning to balance business performance with environmental and social responsibility. By integrating business management with sustainable tourism, destination management, digital tourism technologies, and strategic leadership, the course prepares graduates for careers in tourism management, destination management, hospitality, travel operations, tourism consultancy, event management, sustainable tourism development, business consultancy, and leadership roles across public, private, and international organisations, equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support the growth of a responsible and sustainable global tourism industry.
