COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management and Sustainable Practice programme provides a progressive learning experience that develops students’ expertise in business management, sustainability, leadership, and responsible decision-making across three years of study. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation in core business disciplines by studying organisational behaviour, operations and supply chain management, business economics, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. They gain an understanding of how organisations operate, how employee behaviour influences workplace performance, and how management theories can be applied to solve real business challenges while developing analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The second year focuses on sustainability, responsible management, and enterprise development. Students explore ethical leadership, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, climate change, environmental responsibility, global social responsibility, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while studying social and sustainable enterprise, sustainable supply chains, business data analytics, employee engagement, and personal and professional development. These modules develop the knowledge and practical skills required to create sustainable business strategies, manage responsible supply chains, analyse business data, and promote long-term economic, environmental, and social value within organisations. In the final year, students strengthen their strategic management and leadership capabilities by studying global business and strategy, leadership development, ethics and sustainability, employee engagement and wellbeing, and completing a business consultancy project. They examine international trade, global economic trends, corporate governance, strategic management, and the ethical challenges facing organisations while learning how sustainability influences business performance and long-term competitiveness. Through the consultancy project, students apply their knowledge to real organisational challenges, enhancing their research, analytical, project management, communication, and decision-making skills. Throughout the programme, students develop critical thinking, leadership, innovation, commercial awareness, and the ability to balance business success with environmental and social responsibility. By integrating business management with sustainability, ethical leadership, responsible enterprise, and strategic decision-making, the course prepares graduates for careers in sustainability management, corporate social responsibility, business consultancy, operations management, environmental strategy, supply chain management, project management, and leadership roles across public, private, and international organisations. Graduates leave with the practical knowledge and professional skills needed to drive sustainable business transformation, support responsible innovation, and contribute to organisational success in an increasingly environmentally and socially conscious global economy.
