COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management and Human Resource Management programme provides a comprehensive learning journey that develops students’ expertise in business management, people management, leadership, and organisational development across three years of study. In the first year, students build a solid foundation in core business disciplines by studying organisational behaviour, operations and supply chain management, business economics, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. They learn how organisations operate, how employee behaviour influences workplace performance, and how management theories can be applied to solve practical business challenges through case studies and coursework while developing essential analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. In the second year, students strengthen their understanding of responsible management and specialist HR practices by exploring sustainability, ethical leadership, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, climate change, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They also develop practical knowledge in talent management, employee development, employee engagement, business data analytics, and personal and professional development, enabling them to attract, develop, motivate, and retain talented employees while supporting sustainable organisational success. The final year focuses on advanced strategic management, leadership, and contemporary human resource practices. Students study global business and strategy, leadership development, employee engagement and wellbeing, contemporary HR management issues, and complete a business consultancy project that allows them to solve real organisational challenges. They examine international trade, global economic trends, strategic management, corporate governance, and the impact of leadership and organisational culture on business performance while developing expertise in HR strategy, employee wellbeing, workplace engagement, and people management. Throughout the programme, students strengthen their abilities in critical thinking, strategic decision-making, leadership, communication, research, project management, and business analysis while learning to apply HR principles in diverse organisational settings. The consultancy project further enhances practical experience by enabling students to work on real business issues and develop professional solutions. By integrating business management with specialist human resource management, sustainability, leadership, and global business knowledge, the course prepares graduates for careers in human resource management, talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations, organisational development, recruitment, business consultancy, and leadership roles across public, private, and international organisations, equipping them with the professional knowledge and practical skills required to manage people effectively and contribute to long-term organisational success.
