COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management and Finance programme provides a structured learning journey that develops students’ expertise in business management, financial decision-making, leadership, and strategic planning across three years of study. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in key business disciplines by studying organisational behaviour, operations and supply chain management, business economics, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. They explore how organisations operate, how employee behaviour influences workplace performance, and how management theories can be applied to solve real business challenges while developing essential analytical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The second year focuses on responsible management, financial management, sustainability, and professional development. Students examine ethical leadership, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, climate change, global social responsibility, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while developing specialist knowledge in managing financial resources, business data analytics, employee engagement, accounting law, and personal and professional development. These modules strengthen students’ ability to manage organisational finances, interpret business data, understand legal and regulatory requirements, and support sustainable business practices. In the final year, students develop advanced strategic, financial, and leadership capabilities by studying global business and strategy, leadership development, financial statement analysis, international business performance appraisal, and a business consultancy project. They explore international trade, global economic trends, corporate governance, and strategic management while learning to evaluate financial performance, interpret financial statements, assess organisational success, and make evidence-based strategic decisions. The consultancy project enables students to apply their knowledge to real business challenges, enhancing their research, analytical, project management, and professional communication skills. Throughout the programme, students develop critical thinking, financial analysis, decision-making, leadership, and commercial awareness while gaining practical experience in solving complex business and financial problems. By integrating business management principles with specialist financial knowledge, sustainability, governance, and strategic leadership, the course prepares graduates for careers in financial management, corporate finance, management accounting, business analysis, consultancy, auditing, operations management, banking, and strategic leadership roles across private, public, and international organisations, equipping them with the skills needed to support organisational growth, improve financial performance, and make informed business decisions in an increasingly competitive global economy.
