COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1, the course modules are designed to provide strong insights into contemporary industry thinking and equip students to view business challenges from multiple perspectives. This approach encourages innovative and creative problem solving while also developing the ability to take a strategic overview of business direction and the effective implementation of strategy. The curriculum builds students’ capacity for creative and critical thinking while strengthening their understanding of the core functional areas of business and how these areas interact to contribute to overall organisational success. Core modules include Leading Effectively, which develops leadership skills and self-awareness, and Understanding and Managing People, focusing on motivation, performance, and people management in diverse workplaces. Management Strategy and Consultancy provides in-depth knowledge of strategic analysis, decision making, and consultancy practice, while Management Research Methods equips students with the tools needed to conduct applied research. Critical Perspectives on Sustainability develops awareness of ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities in management. Students can choose from a range of final options, including the Management Research Project, a New Business Development Proposal, or a Case Study in Context, each designed to enhance practical application. If a placement or project year is selected, the Research Dissertation module is replaced by a placement or project module, offering valuable professional experience.
