COURSE CURRICULUM

This program is structured to develop a strong strategic and operational understanding of engineering management during Year 1, integrating technical insight with essential business and leadership skills. Core modules focus on key management disciplines, beginning with Industrial Work Design and Organisation, which examines how work systems are structured to improve efficiency, productivity and workforce effectiveness. Business and Operations Supply Strategy provides an in-depth exploration of supply chain design, sourcing decisions and operational strategy within a global context. Strategic Financial Management develops the ability to interpret and apply financial information to support strategic decision-making, while Strategic Project Management equips students with advanced tools and techniques to plan, manage and deliver complex projects successfully. Management Research Methods strengthens analytical and research skills, preparing students to investigate organisational challenges systematically. The program culminates in a substantial final assessment, allowing students to choose between a Management Research Project, a New Business Development Proposal or a Case Study in Context, each offering an opportunity to apply learning to real-world managerial or strategic problems. For those selecting a Placement or Project Year, the Management Research Project is replaced by a professional placement or independent project module, providing valuable practical experience and further enhancing employability in engineering and management-focused roles.
