COURSE CURRICULUM

This program is structured to provide a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of key areas within modern banking and finance during Year 1, with a strong emphasis on governance, risk, technology and strategic decision-making. Students study six modules that collectively develop advanced knowledge of corporate governance and ethics, commercial and investment banking practices, financial operations and the growing role of technology in the sector. Core modules such as Artificial Intelligence in Finance and Analytics explore the use of data-driven and intelligent systems in financial decision-making, while Corporate Governance and Risk focuses on ethical leadership, regulatory frameworks and risk management. Commercial and Investment Banking provides insight into banking operations, markets and client services, and Research Methods for Accounting and Finance develops the analytical and research skills needed for evidence-based financial analysis. The program culminates in a substantial final project, allowing students to apply their learning through a choice of a research dissertation, a case study analysis or the development of a new business proposal. For students who opt for a Placement or Project Year, the Research Dissertation is replaced by a professional placement or independent project module, offering valuable practical or research-based experience that enhances employability and industry readiness.
