In Year 1, students studying development focus on building advanced skills in project management, planning, finance, and appraisal, alongside an independent dissertation project.The Project Implementation Management module (DEV7040-B) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of project implementation. This module equips students with essential skills needed to manage projects effectively and ensures they can navigate the complexities of the implementation phase.The Project Planning and Design module (DEV7033-B) helps students develop an in-depth understanding of the principles and practices of project planning and design. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the nature and purpose of development projects and how these projects are structured and initiated.The Project Finance and Appraisal module (DEV7041-B) focuses on equipping students with the knowledge needed to manage project finance and conduct appraisals. This module provides students with an advanced understanding of the financial aspects of development projects, helping them appreciate how projects are evaluated from a financial perspective.The Dissertation module (PES7040-E) is a significant component of the program, providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate advanced knowledge and research skills.
