Principles of Drug Discovery (INC7020-C) provides an understanding of the various stages in drug discovery, emphasizing the criteria for selecting 'druggable' targets and evaluating biological properties. Research Skills for Postgraduate Students (INC7022-C) develops core research competencies, including laboratory techniques, critical analysis of scientific literature, and effective data interpretation and communication skills. Preclinical Models for Drug Evaluation (INC7001-B) offers students the chance to explore techniques for evaluating anti-cancer drugs using preclinical models, while also emphasizing ethics in animal research and professional development. Case Studies in Drug Discovery (INC7011-B) expands students' understanding of current issues and methodologies in drug discovery through a comprehensive review of various research areas. Molecular Mechanisms of Toxicity (INC7009-B) focuses on the molecular basis of drug toxicity, integrating lectures, tutorials, and student-led seminars, alongside laboratory investigations, to deepen students’ understanding of drug target toxicity and alternative preclinical screening strategies. The Cancer Therapeutics Research Project (INC7019-E) provides students with the opportunity to engage in real-world research, applying their knowledge to solve complex problems, further developing skills in laboratory techniques, safety compliance, and teamwork, while exploring current issues in cancer therapeutics.
