COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the MSc program, students will engage in a diverse set of modules that provide both theoretical understanding and practical skills relevant to modern management practices. The MSc Dissertation (MAL7501-E) allows students to undertake a deep investigation into a management issue, applying knowledge and theories from previous modules, and developing project management skills from planning to delivery. The Strategic Management module (SIB7501-B) introduces critical concepts in strategy, focusing on the application of strategic management frameworks to real-world situations. Marketing Planning and Strategy (MAR7501-B) offers a critical evaluation of marketing concepts, helping students address contemporary marketing issues and apply theoretical frameworks in corporate decision-making. Operations Management (OIM7503-A) emphasizes the centrality of operations in business success, providing a foundation for understanding key areas of production and service management within organizations. The Business Economics module (AFE7504-A) provides a solid grounding in key economic concepts, focusing on decision-making at household, firm, and government levels, and the wider impact of these decisions on the macroeconomy. Human Resource Development (HRM7505-B) explores the role of skill development and HRD in enhancing organizational performance, with a focus on leadership development and coaching. The Global Technology and Innovation Management module (EAE7502-B) examines the management and ethical implications of technological advancements and their effects on organizations and society. Finally, the Professional Placement (MAR7513-A) offers students the chance to apply their knowledge in a real-world professional setting, providing practical experience and encouraging critical reflection on their work practice, autonomy, and teamworking skills.
