In the first year of the program, students engage in various modules that build core finance knowledge and technical skills necessary for advanced study and professional practice. The Dissertation (AFE) module (MAL7502-E) allows students to conduct original research related to the taught components of the program, demonstrating a deep understanding of specific areas within finance. The Quantitative Methods in Finance module (AFE7501-B) equips students with the foundational knowledge and technical skills in mathematics, econometrics, and statistics, essential for analyzing financial data and pursuing advanced finance roles. It also introduces statistical computing skills, providing students with applied competencies for real-world finance applications. The Asset Pricing and Financial Markets module (AFE7503-B) provides an in-depth understanding of financial markets, institutions, and asset pricing models. Students gain knowledge about the fundamental principles of modern financial systems, the role of financial regulation, and the empirical evidence behind asset pricing theories.
