COURSE CURRICULUM

This postgraduate Public Health programme is designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in health promotion, disease prevention, public health research, leadership, and evidence-based decision-making. Research in Contemporary Public Health strengthens research design, critical appraisal, and evidence-based practice skills, enabling students to evaluate public health interventions and contribute to informed policy and decision-making. Social Policy, Public Health and Leadership explores the relationship between health policy, social determinants of health, leadership, and the organisation of healthcare systems, preparing students to lead public health initiatives and influence health outcomes. Health Needs Assessment in Practice develops practical skills in identifying community health priorities, assessing population health needs, and planning effective public health interventions based on reliable evidence. Students can further personalise their learning through optional modules such as Working with Communities to Improve Health, which focuses on community engagement, partnership working, and the design of health improvement programmes. Management of Global Pharmaceutical Supply examines pharmaceutical supply chains, medicine distribution, and global healthcare logistics, while Leading Change and Service Improvement in Health and Social Care develops leadership, organisational change, and quality improvement skills for healthcare services. Throughout the programme, students gain expertise in data analysis, research, policy development, leadership, health promotion, and strategic planning while considering ethical, social, and global perspectives in public health practice.
