COURSE CURRICULUM

The undergraduate Economics program is structured across four years, starting with core modules in Year 1, including Introduction to Microeconomics (AFE4010-B), which explores microeconomic theory and its real-world applications, and Introduction to Macroeconomics (AFE4011-B), focusing on macroeconomic principles like inflation, unemployment, and economic growth. Students also study Principles of Responsible Management and Practice (OIM4013-B), examining sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility, and Finance and Accounting for Managers (AFE4015-B), which introduces financial concepts and decision-making. Quantitative Methods for Economists (AFE4013-B) builds skills in mathematical and statistical analysis, while Development of Economic Ideas (AFE4012-B) traces the historical evolution of economic thought. Year 2 advances these concepts with modules like Intermediate Microeconomics (AFE5021-B) and Intermediate Macroeconomics (AFE5022-B), delving deeper into economic models. Students also learn about Multinational Finance and Investment (AFE5013-B), covering investment strategies and foreign exchange markets, and Research Methods for Economists (AFE5023-B), which equips them with research techniques. Year 3 offers the opportunity for study abroad or a placement year to gain practical experience. The Final Year includes a Dissertation in Economics (AFE6017-D), allowing for in-depth research on a chosen topic.
