COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of computing. In Year 1, students are introduced to programming concepts using Java in the Fundamentals of Programming module, alongside mathematical principles for computational problem-solving in Mathematics for Computing. The Technical and Professional Skills module equips students with problem-solving, decision-making, and professional awareness, while Computer Architecture and Systems Software explores the fundamentals of hardware and systems software. Internet Technologies focuses on web technologies and protocols, and Software Design and Development covers object-oriented design, software analysis, and testing.Year 2 builds on these foundations with modules like Artificial Intelligence, which introduces AI concepts and hands-on programming, and Data Structures and Algorithms, focusing on data representation and algorithm optimization. Database Systems emphasizes relational database design, and Computer Communications and Networks covers networking, security, and network design. The Enterprise Pro module offers real-world project experience, while System Security Management focuses on identifying and mitigating security threats. In Year 3, students can choose to either study abroad or take a placement year, gaining valuable industry experience. The Final Year Project allows students to work on a comprehensive research or development project, applying the skills they’ve learned. Additionally, modules like Large Scale Data Driven Applications and Software Systems Design and Testing explore big data application development and software engineering best practices, respectively. This program equips students with the skills to tackle complex problems in various computing fields, from AI to data science and security, preparing them for a successful career in the tech industry.
