COURSE CURRICULUM

The course is structured to develop advanced technical expertise in software engineering alongside strong project management and leadership skills. Students gain a thorough understanding of project management tools and techniques, enabling them to effectively plan, manage, and deliver complex software projects. They also build leadership capabilities by learning how to manage organisational resources, implement high-performance systems, and respond to change. The program covers advanced computing topics such as distributed and parallel computing, providing insight into the design and deployment of large-scale systems. Students also study software design patterns and data architectures, learning how to develop, optimise, and evaluate efficient and scalable applications. In addition, they gain practical experience with applied software development techniques and open-source frameworks, preparing them for real-world development environments. Research methodologies are an important part of the course, helping students apply project management and research principles within legal and ethical frameworks. They also develop independent research skills, including proposal design and analysis. Personal and professional development is emphasized throughout, preparing students for future careers. The course concludes with an MSc project, where students apply their technical and analytical skills to create a research-based software solution.
