COURSE CURRICULUM

MSc in International Business and Data Analytics equips students with a thorough understanding of global trade, monetary policy, and strategic business management, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. In the International Trade and Monetary Policy unit, students explore the theory of international trade, examining how countries exchange goods and services, manage international migration, and facilitate foreign direct investment flows. The unit also investigates why nations and trade blocs implement regulations or restrictions, analysing the economic welfare implications of such policies. Students gain insight into international and European monetary systems, considering recent developments, challenges, and real-world issues such as balance of payments, exchange rate movements, and the economic interconnections between countries. Complementing this, the Strategy unit develops students’ critical and informed understanding of the business environment, enabling them to identify opportunities and assess the strategic positioning of organisations. The unit introduces a range of tools and concepts for strategic analysis and business modelling, fostering strategic thinking and vision that can be applied to formulating strategies, evaluating options, and implementing effective decisions. Together, these units prepare students to apply analytical, decision-making, and management skills in complex international contexts, combining data-driven insights with strategic business acumen to address global challenges, support organisational growth, and pursue leadership roles in international business, consultancy, and strategic management.
