COURSE CURRICULUM

MSc in Cyber Security will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of security processes, methodologies, and best practices, preparing you to manage and respond to modern cyber threats effectively. The program covers both strategic and tactical aspects of cybersecurity within organisational contexts, ensuring students can align IT operations and information security programs with broader business objectives. In the Tactical and Strategic Cybersecurity Management unit, you will explore key domains of cybersecurity management, including optimised IT operations, critical business functions, and the integration of people, infrastructure, and technology to address dynamic and conflicting security requirements. The Information Governance and Compliance unit introduces the legal, regulatory, and organisational frameworks that govern modern information systems, equipping you with the skills to manage information assets in accordance with compliance standards. In the Cyber Defence unit, you will develop practical expertise in preventing, detecting, and responding to cyber-attacks, while gaining experience in network security mechanisms, information gathering, analytics, and the development of threat intelligence programs. The program culminates in an MSc Project in Cyber Security, where you will integrate your learning through independent research or applied work on a topic relevant to your interests, supported by training in Research Methodologies and Project Management. This combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and applied research prepares graduates for careers in cybersecurity, risk management, and information security leadership across diverse industries.
