Accounting and Business Finance MSc will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of financial and management accounting, financial markets, and strategic business decision-making, equipping you with the skills needed for managerial and finance-focused roles. In Financial Reporting and Performance Management, you will develop the ability to read, interpret, and analyse published financial statements, identifying critical information within corporate reports while considering the impact of regulations, accounting concepts, and standards on decision-making. The Financial Markets and Investments unit builds knowledge of global financial markets, including the importance of liquidity, the differences between exchange and over-the-counter markets, primary and secondary markets, and the role of intermediaries. Advanced Management Accounting equips you with practical tools and techniques to support decision-making, optimise revenue, manage costs, and integrate management accounting with financial planning to drive business success. In the Strategy unit, you will gain a critical understanding of business environments and opportunities, using strategic analysis and business modelling tools to assess organisational positions, formulate strategies, evaluate options, and implement effective decisions. The program concludes with a Capstone unit, allowing you to integrate theory and practice through an independent research project on a topic relevant to your field. Guided by a research supervisor, you will apply research methods, develop analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to bridge academic learning with practical business applications.
