COURSE CURRICULUM

The course is structured over three years to develop a strong understanding of sport and exercise science through both theoretical knowledge and practical application. In the first year, students build a foundation by studying key areas such as anatomy, biomechanics, human physiology, nutrition, and sport psychology, while also learning about strength and conditioning and effective coaching practices. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced scientific and analytical skills. Students explore social psychology in sport, deepen their understanding of biomechanics and exercise physiology, and develop laboratory skills for measuring performance and physical capacity. They also study nutrient metabolism, performance analysis, and methods for promoting physical activity and health, while preparing for independent research. In the final year, students apply their knowledge in real-world settings through work experience and a placement project. They study advanced topics such as applied sport psychology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, clinical exercise, and performance nutrition. The course concludes with a dissertation, where students conduct original research in a chosen area. This structure equips students with the skills needed for careers in sports performance, coaching, health, and rehabilitation.
