COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM in Law and Social Justice includes a wide range of compulsory modules that allow students to critically explore the relationship between law, inequality, and justice. The module on Firearms: Control and Consequences examines the regulation of firearms and their broader social and legal impacts, while Environmental Law and Justice addresses the intersection of environmental protection and social equity. Domestic Criminal Procedure and Social Justice provides insights into how criminal law processes operate and how they can both protect and challenge justice within society. Equality, Non-Discrimination, and Human Rights Law investigates key frameworks for safeguarding rights and addressing systemic inequality. Race and Social Justice explores the legal and societal dimensions of racial discrimination and the pursuit of equality. Health Justice focuses on the legal, ethical, and social issues affecting access to healthcare and public health, highlighting how law shapes health equity. Finally, the Research Project enables students to conduct independent, in-depth research on a chosen topic, applying the critical, analytical, and advocacy skills gained throughout the program. Together, these modules offer a comprehensive foundation for understanding the multifaceted role of law in promoting social justice, equipping graduates to influence change in legal practice, policy, advocacy, or academia.
