COURSE CURRICULUM

The undergraduate psychology program is structured across three years, providing a comprehensive foundation in both general and forensic psychology. In the first year, students engage with core and compulsory modules including Psychology in Practice, Introduction to Psychology, Investigating Psychology, Becoming a Psychologist, Positive Psychology, and Foundations of Forensic Psychology. These modules focus on building a broad understanding of psychological principles, research skills, and the practical application of psychological knowledge. The second year deepens this foundation through core and compulsory modules such as Research Methods and Statistics, Biological and Cognitive Psychology: Mechanisms of the Mind, Development and Society, Personality and the Fundamentals of Psychology, Forensic Risk Assessment, and Mapping the Landscape of Forensic Practice. This year emphasizes advanced theoretical knowledge, research methodology, and the application of psychological principles to forensic contexts. In the final year, students focus on specialized forensic practice and research, completing a compulsory module in Forensic Psychology in Practice and undertaking a substantial Forensic Psychology Dissertation. Across all three years, the program balances theoretical learning, practical experience, and independent research, equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in psychology and forensic settings, while also preparing them for further postgraduate study if desired.
