COURSE CURRICULUM

The Engineering BSc degree is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in core engineering principles while building the advanced knowledge and skills required for professional practice. In the first year, students are introduced to essential areas including engineering design, electrical and mechanical principles, materials science, analytical methods, and industry practice, ensuring they develop a solid base in both theoretical and practical aspects of engineering. The second year advances this learning with modules in engineering design, analogue and digital electronics, advanced mechanical principles, manufacturing systems technology, and innovation and management, allowing students to deepen their technical expertise while also gaining insights into the organisational and creative aspects of engineering. By the final year, the course focuses on more specialised and applied areas, such as computer simulation and modelling, lean manufacturing and quality applications, advanced electro-mechanical system design, and the study of machines and mechanisms. A major element of the final year is the engineering project, which enables students to apply their accumulated knowledge and skills to a substantial independent or group project, preparing them for professional roles.
