COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Acting for Stage and Screen offers a structured three-year curriculum designed to develop versatile, industry-ready performers. In Year 1, students build strong foundations in performance through modules that focus on improvisation, vocal techniques, movement, ensemble work, and interpreting texts for both stage and screen. This year emphasizes core skills in voice, body, and text analysis, establishing the essential toolkit of an actor. Year 2 advances into more applied and collaborative work, encouraging creativity and technical exploration. Students engage in devised performance, develop expressive movement and voice through technology, and gain experience in screen acting. They also begin building a professional portfolio and participate in creative collaborations, helping them bridge artistic practice with professional industry contexts. Year 3 consolidates learning with an emphasis on professional preparation and performance. Students participate in a large-scale professional performance, explore socially engaged theatre, and refine advanced voice and movement skills. They also focus on industry preparation, developing the practical knowledge needed for auditions, self-promotion, and career planning, while the fringe festival performance provides the opportunity to showcase their work to live audiences. This carefully designed progression equips students with creative, technical, and professional skills to succeed across stage, screen, and digital platforms.
