COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Forensic Anthropology course provides an in-depth exploration of how the study of human remains supports criminal investigations and legal processes. Students develop expertise in human and comparative anatomy, learning to identify skeletal characteristics and interpret trauma to determine age, sex, ancestry, and cause of death. Core modules, such as Crime Scene to Court, guide students through the complete investigative process, from evidence recovery at a crime scene to presenting findings in legal contexts. The program emphasizes practical skills, allowing students to apply forensic techniques in laboratory settings and gain hands-on experience in the analysis of skeletal remains. The dissertation module encourages independent research, enabling students to design and execute original projects that address real-world forensic challenges while fostering critical thinking and methodological rigor. Optional modules such as Forensic Genetics, Forensic Taphonomy, and Identification of the Living and Deceased allow students to specialize further, enhancing their employability and broadening their knowledge in niche areas of forensic science.
