COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering course equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills to excel in modern engineering systems, particularly within the context of Industry 5.0. The program covers key areas including artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Internet of Things, power electronics, electrical machine control, and advanced digital systems, providing a solid foundation in both theoretical and applied aspects of contemporary electrical and electronic engineering. Students develop expertise in designing, analysing, and optimising complex engineering systems, integrating emerging technologies, and applying problem-solving techniques to real-world industrial challenges. The research methods module ensures that students are proficient in rigorous investigation, data analysis, and critical evaluation, preparing them for evidence-based engineering practice. A major component of the course is the MSc project, which allows students to undertake an in-depth research or engineering project, fostering independent thinking, innovation, and technical proficiency. Optional modules, such as digital signal and image processing, enable further specialisation, covering advanced techniques in signal and image analysis, compression, enhancement, segmentation, and practical implementation considerations.
