The compulsory modules of the MSc Cyber Security are designed to develop a strong foundation in both computing principles and advanced security practices. Object-Oriented Programming builds essential programming skills, enabling students to design, develop, and maintain secure and efficient software systems. Digital Security focuses on protecting digital assets by examining threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive techniques used in modern computing environments. Information Security Management explores governance, risk management, and compliance, helping students understand how security strategies are implemented and managed within organisations. Advanced Topics in Cybersecurity examines emerging threats, advanced defence mechanisms, and current developments in the cyber security landscape. Web Application Development develops practical skills in designing and securing web-based applications, with a focus on identifying and mitigating common security risks. The Practical Experience module provides hands-on exposure to real-world cyber security challenges, strengthening professional and technical competence. Research Methods equips students with the skills needed to conduct systematic investigation, critical analysis, and independent study in cyber security.
