COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Clinical Implantology course provides a comprehensive program for dentists aiming to incorporate implantology into their professional practice, combining theoretical study with practical clinical experience. Compulsory modules, including Clinical Implantology 1, Utilising the Evidence Base, Clinical Implantology 2, and Research Strategy, ensure that students develop a thorough understanding of both the science and application of dental implants. Clinical Implantology 1 introduces the foundational principles of implant placement, surgical techniques, patient assessment, and treatment planning, equipping students with essential skills for safe and effective practice. Utilising the Evidence Base emphasizes critical engagement with current research and scientific literature, enabling students to apply evidence-based approaches to clinical decision-making and to evaluate emerging techniques and materials in implantology. Clinical Implantology 2 builds on the first module, providing advanced practical experience and deeper insight into complex procedures, prosthetic planning, and the management of complications, all under the supervision of experienced consultants. The Research Strategy module develops students’ understanding of research methodologies, project design, and scientific communication, fostering analytical thinking and the ability to conduct independent research relevant to clinical practice.
