COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law degree provides a comprehensive and practical legal education, preparing students for careers in the legal profession and related fields. In the first year, students build a foundational understanding of law and legal practice through modules such as English and EU legal systems, criminal law, contract law, law and emerging technology, legal method, and professional skills and employability. These modules develop essential skills in legal reasoning, research, and professional communication, equipping students to apply legal knowledge in practical contexts. In the second year, the curriculum expands to cover tort law, consumer and commercial law, international and European law, alternative dispute resolution, and advanced professional skills, with optional modules available to explore areas such as digital investigation, family and child law, and issues related to crime and society. The third year focuses on advanced legal concepts and practical application, with compulsory modules including equity and trusts, land law, law for entrepreneurs, and graduate professional skills, complemented by optional modules in areas such as human trafficking, international humanitarian and criminal law, street law, medicine and the law, company law, and social issues related to law. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, research, and advocacy skills, gaining the knowledge and confidence necessary to succeed in legal practice, professional training, and broader legal and policy roles.
