COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy program is designed to prepare students for a professional career in physiotherapy, emphasizing both theoretical understanding and practical application. In the first year, students focus on the foundations of physiotherapy practice, gaining essential knowledge of human movement, professional conduct, and the principles of supporting health and wellbeing across the lifespan. Modules such as Foundations in Physiotherapy Practice, Ageing Well, and Professionalism in Practice equip students with the skills to work safely and effectively while fostering a professional mindset. In the second year, the program deepens students’ understanding of physiotherapy in real-world contexts through modules like Living Well, Starting Well, and Physiotherapy in Practice 1. These modules combine theoretical insight with hands-on experience, preparing students to assess, plan, and deliver care in a variety of clinical settings. The final year focuses on advanced practice and professional readiness. Physiotherapy in Practice 2 and Enhancing Physiotherapy Practice provide intensive clinical experience, while the Physiotherapy Research Project develops critical research skills, and Exploring Contemporary Physiotherapy Practice encourages reflective thinking and awareness of emerging trends in the profession. Overall, the program ensures graduates are competent, confident, and ready to make a meaningful contribution to health and wellbeing in diverse healthcare environments.
