COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Neuropsychology degree provides a comprehensive exploration of the relationship between brain function and behaviour, preparing students for careers in clinical, research, and healthcare settings. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in cognitive, biological, developmental, and social psychology, alongside analytical skills and an understanding of the historical and contemporary context of psychology. They engage with real-world applications of psychological principles, developing critical thinking and research abilities. In the second year, the focus shifts to advanced cognitive, biological, social, and developmental psychology, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Students also study the principles of neuropsychology, gaining insight into how brain function impacts behaviour, and have the opportunity to explore optional areas such as clinical psychology, mental health, or child development. The final year emphasizes practical application and professional development, with modules on applied psychology research, neuropsychological disorders and techniques, and career preparation through work placements. Students undertake a substantial applied psychology project, allowing them to integrate theoretical knowledge with research and practical skills. Graduates leave the program with a strong scientific grounding, advanced analytical skills, and professional experience, equipping them to make meaningful contributions in neuropsychology, healthcare, and related fields, or to pursue postgraduate study.
