COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to successfully manage construction projects from inception to completion. In Year 1, students build a foundational understanding through compulsory modules such as Construction Technology (L4), Sustainability and Science, Management and Economics, Introduction to Law and Procurement, Professional Practice, and an Interdisciplinary Project. These modules introduce core construction principles, sustainable practices, economic and management concepts, legal frameworks, and collaborative project work, preparing students for further study and professional application. Year 2 develops technical expertise and project management skills through modules including Construction Technology 2, Building Services, Production Economics, Construction Law 2, Management and Project Planning, Health and Safety Management, and Professional Practice - CPM. Students gain in-depth knowledge of construction systems, planning, legal considerations, and workplace safety, while refining practical and professional competencies. In Year 3, the program emphasizes advanced project management and industry readiness with modules such as Project Management and BIM, Commercial Construction Management, Project Analysis and Appraisal, Business Practice and Law, and a Dissertation. Optional modules in Health and Safety Management and Professional Practice provide opportunities to further tailor learning. Throughout the course, students engage in hands-on projects, case studies, and research, developing analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Graduates are prepared for careers as construction project managers, site managers, contract administrators, and other professional roles within the construction and built environment sectors.
