COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course provides a structured progression through fundamental and advanced concepts in computing, AI, and data analytics. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation by studying programming, mathematics, statistics, and systems design, while also exploring the ethical and professional aspects of data and technology through modules such as The Computing Challenge, Ethics, Data and Professionalism, and Systems Analysis and Database Design. Year 2 focuses on developing technical proficiency and practical problem-solving skills through modules like Programming for Data, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Computational Maths and Simulation. Students also gain insight into agile project management and computational thinking, preparing them for real-world applications. In the final year, the course advances to specialized topics such as Deep Learning, Data Visualisation, and Applications of AI and Data Science, allowing students to refine their expertise in emerging technologies. The Honours Degree Project and Negotiated Specialism module enable learners to undertake independent research and tailor their studies to their career interests. Overall, the program integrates theory, practice, and innovation, ensuring graduates are equipped with the analytical, technical, and creative skills required to excel in the evolving fields of artificial intelligence and data science.
