COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Architecture program offers a structured three-year curriculum that combines design creativity, technical knowledge, and professional development to prepare students for careers in architecture. In the first year, students focus on foundational skills through modules such as Design 1: Exploration, Sustainability 1: Climate Emergency, Construction, Technology and Life Safety 1: Principles, and Humanities 1: Evolution. These courses introduce key concepts in architectural design, sustainability, construction technology, and historical and cultural context, providing a solid grounding for further study. The second year builds on this foundation with Design 2: Experimentation, Sustainability 2: Transitions, Construction, Technology and Life Safety 2: Application, and Humanities 2: Discourse, encouraging students to apply design principles in more complex projects, explore innovative approaches to sustainability, and develop technical competence in building systems and life safety. In the final year, students advance to Design 3: Autonomy, Advanced and Future Strategies, Professional Practice, and Humanities 3: Critical Context, focusing on independent design projects, strategic thinking, and preparation for professional practice. Throughout the program, students develop practical skills in model making, digital tools, and construction methods, while enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Graduates leave with a comprehensive portfolio, technical expertise, and professional readiness, equipped to progress to professional architectural training or pursue careers in design, construction, and related fields.
