COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) Robotics Engineering course provides a comprehensive foundation in mechanical, electronic, and software engineering, preparing students to design and develop advanced robotic systems. In the first year, modules such as Digital and Programmable Systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Design and Sustainability, Engineering Analysis, Engineering Practice, and Fundamentals of Engineering Science introduce core engineering principles and practical design skills. The second year builds on this foundation with modules including Robotic Systems, Project, Software Development, and Signals and Systems Analysis, offering a deeper understanding of robotics programming, control systems, and data processing. Students can also choose an optional module in Data Communications and IoT to explore the integration of robotics with modern communication technologies. In the final year, core modules such as Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Microcontroller Systems, Machine Intelligence, and Engineering Project with Sustainability allow students to apply their learning to real-world challenges through research and project-based work. Optional modules like Computer-Aided Instrumentation and Imaging and Vision Systems provide opportunities to specialize in areas such as automation, sensing, and computer vision. Overall, the course equips graduates with the technical expertise, innovation skills, and practical experience needed for a successful career in robotics, automation, and intelligent system design.
