COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies is a three-year program designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of aerospace engineering principles while integrating theoretical pilot training. In the first year, students build a solid foundation through modules such as Aerospace Vehicle Systems, Introduction to Aerospace Engineering, Design and Sustainability, Engineering Analysis, Engineering Practice, and Fundamentals of Engineering Science. These courses develop essential knowledge in aircraft systems, engineering fundamentals, problem-solving, and sustainable design. The second year focuses on more advanced topics, including Aerospace Design and Manufacturing, Space Systems, Vehicle Aerodynamics and Structures, Pilot Operations PPL, and Thermo-fluids, with optional modules in Computer Aided Design and Simulation and Further Engineering Mathematics and Simulation. This stage introduces students to the theoretical components of the Private Pilot License, while enhancing technical expertise in aerodynamics, structures, and propulsion principles. In the final year, students consolidate their learning with Aerospace Advanced Material and Structural Analysis, Flight Dynamics and Control, Aerospace Propulsion, Engineering Project with Sustainability, and Computational Fluid Dynamics. The program emphasizes practical application, analytical skills, and project-based learning, preparing graduates for careers in aerospace engineering, aviation, and related industries. By completing this degree, students gain a strong engineering foundation, exposure to pilot operations, and the technical competence to contribute effectively to modern aerospace projects.
