COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Music Theatre degree is structured to develop a comprehensive range of skills across performance, creativity, and production within the field of musical theatre. In the first year, students focus on foundational modules such as Musical Theatre 1, New Music Theatre 1, and Musical Theatre Skills, which provide essential training in singing, acting, dance, and ensemble performance, while introducing creative approaches to developing new musical theatre work. Year two builds on these foundations through Musical Theatre 2 and New Music Theatre 2, allowing students to refine their performance techniques, deepen their understanding of stagecraft, and gain practical experience in both classical and contemporary musical theatre styles. Students engage with collaborative projects that simulate professional environments, fostering adaptability, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. In the final year, Musical Theatre 3 and New Music Theatre 3 provide advanced opportunities for students to showcase their artistic growth through major performance projects and independent creative work.
