COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) International Tourism Management degree provides students with the expertise and practical experience needed to thrive in the global tourism industry. In the first year, students build a foundation in tourism, business, and professional practice through modules such as Creativity, Enterprise and Scholarship, Business Landscape, Professional Practice in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, and Tourism Today, which introduce essential concepts and skills for understanding contemporary tourism contexts. The second year focuses on developing specialized knowledge and practical experience in tourism management with modules like Managing Experiences in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Tourism Drivers and Trends, and Destination Management Field Work, while optional modules including Professional Skills in the T.H.E Workplace and Learning in Action allow students to gain hands-on experience and industry exposure. In the third year, students consolidate their learning through independent and applied projects such as the Independent Project for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Tourism, Hospitality and Events Graduate Innovation and Creativity, and Tourism Perceptions, Places and Futures, enabling them to explore complex issues and develop creative solutions for the tourism sector. Optional modules such as Managing Service Quality, Global Placement, Critical Insights into Dark Tourism and Difficult Heritage, Applied Research, and International Fieldwork further enhance practical skills, industry awareness, and global perspective. Graduates are equipped for careers as professional managers, consultants, and innovators in the international tourism and hospitality industry.
