COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Interior Design course provides a structured and creative journey through the exploration of spatial design, materials, and architectural concepts. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of design through modules such as Design Context 1, Creative Thinking, Drawing and Modelling 1, and Building Anatomy 1, which develop essential design, visualisation, and technical drawing skills. The second year advances these foundations with Design Context 2 and Interior Design Studies, where students begin to apply their creativity to more complex projects, supported by modules in Drawing and Modelling 2 and Building Anatomy 2 that enhance their technical accuracy and understanding of interior spaces. By the final year, students engage in critical and conceptual thinking through Design Context 3 and Future Lifestyles, focusing on emerging trends, sustainability, and innovation in interior environments. The Honours Project Site Analysis and Interior Design Final Project allow students to demonstrate their design philosophy and professional capabilities through a major self-directed project. This course combines creative exploration, research, and practical application, preparing graduates for careers in interior design, exhibition design, retail and spatial planning, or further postgraduate study within the field of design and architecture.
