COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Game Art course provides students with the creative and technical foundations needed to excel in the game design industry. In the first year, students develop essential artistic and design skills through modules such as Introduction to Concept Design, Drawing for Design, and 3D Modelling and Digital Art for Games, which teach the fundamentals of digital creation and visual storytelling. The Creativity and Context for Games module introduces students to the wider artistic and cultural influences that shape modern game design. In the second year, the focus shifts toward applying these skills in a professional context with modules like Game Art Pipeline, Character Design, and Realising Game Engine Potential, which allow students to explore the full development process from concept to finished assets. Heading into The Games Industry helps them understand professional workflows and industry expectations. In the final year, students refine their personal style and prepare for employment through Professional Portfolio Development, creating a body of work that demonstrates their skills and creativity. The Honours Project serves as the culmination of their learning, allowing them to independently design and produce a major game art project that reflects their artistic vision and professional readiness.
