COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Animation program offers a structured three-year curriculum that develops students’ creative, technical, and professional skills in animation. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Contextual Studies in Animation, Introduction to Animation, Introduction to Model Making, and Skill Development and Software Training. These courses introduce essential animation principles, technical skills, and software tools while providing hands-on experience in model making and practical animation techniques. In the second year, students advance their expertise through Focus Studies, Animation Practice, Animation Production and VFX, and Advanced Model Making. This stage emphasizes applied learning, allowing students to develop their own projects, experiment with visual effects, and refine their technical and creative abilities. In the final year, the curriculum focuses on professional and industry-ready outcomes through Research and Preproduction, Honours Project and Promotion, and Animated TV Series modules. Students undertake in-depth research, develop preproduction plans, and create substantial animation projects, culminating in a polished portfolio or animated production that demonstrates their skills and creativity. Across all three years, students gain experience in storytelling, character development, digital animation, stop motion, and 3D animation, preparing them for careers in animation studios, film and television production, game design, and digital media. The program ensures graduates leave with both technical competence and creative confidence to succeed in the animation industry.
