COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Financial Studies program provides a comprehensive three-year curriculum that develops students’ knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, and business management. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Introduction to Economics, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Management Accounting, Information Systems and the Business Environment, Legal Obligations in Business, and Introduction to Personal and Professional Practice. These courses establish essential principles in accounting, finance, and professional conduct while introducing students to the broader business environment. In the second year, the focus shifts to applied and analytical skills with modules including Data Analytics for Business, Financial Accounting for Managers, Management Accounting Techniques, Finance for Managers in Business, and Accounting Information Systems and Control Issues. Optional modules, such as Companies and the Law, Taxation Theory and Practice, and Learning and Development for Business, allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests. The final year emphasizes strategic and advanced applications, covering Financial and Sustainability Reporting for Managers, Decision Making for Business, Financial Management for Business, and Business Strategy, with further optional modules such as Islamic Finance, Contemporary Issues in Sustainability, and Global Placement. Throughout the program, students develop practical, digital, and analytical skills, preparing them for careers in accounting, finance, management, and business consultancy, while fostering critical thinking and professional competence for a dynamic business environment.
