COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Psychology program provides a comprehensive foundation in the core areas of psychology while equipping students with essential research and professional skills. The course begins with Child Development, offering an in-depth understanding of the cognitive, social and emotional growth of children, alongside Research Methodology and Statistics, which build the technical expertise needed to conduct high-quality psychological research. Students then explore Brain and Cognition, examining the neural and cognitive processes that underpin behaviour, and Mental Health, which provides insight into psychological disorders, their causes and approaches to treatment. Personality and Social Psychology encourages students to critically assess how individual differences and social influences shape behaviour and interactions. The module on Professional Research Skills for Psychologists ensures students develop the practical competencies required for careers in research and applied psychology, including ethical practice and communication of findings. The program culminates in an independent Psychology Research Project, where students design and execute an original piece of research, applying the theories and methods they have studied. Together, these modules create a strong academic and professional foundation, preparing graduates to progress into psychology careers or further training while enabling them to contribute to a deeper understanding of human behaviour.
