COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Finance and Investment degree provides a comprehensive education in the principles, tools, and practices that drive global financial systems, structured to build knowledge progressively across three years. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation in finance and accounting through modules in financial accounting, business economics, principles of finance, statistics for finance, and quantitative skills, while also engaging with professional ethics to understand the importance of responsibility in financial decision-making. The second year builds on this base with more advanced study in financial reporting, corporate finance, fixed income securities, financial econometrics, and risk management, deepening both technical expertise and analytical ability. In the final year, compulsory modules in investments and portfolio management, derivatives, and financial programming in Python give students advanced technical training and applied skills valued by employers. A wide choice of optional modules allows students to specialize in areas such as fintech, sustainable finance, taxation, predictive analytics, international banking, alternative investments, or to undertake a research project or applied business challenge.
