COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Design program at Kent provides students with a comprehensive education in creativity, technology, and interactive media, preparing them for careers in the rapidly evolving creative and digital industries. In the first year, students build foundational skills through modules in 3D fundamentals, digital content creation, virtual environment design, programming for interactivity, interaction design, and fundamentals of programming, developing both technical and creative expertise. The second year focuses on practical and applied skills with compulsory modules in 3D production, interactive environments, immersive experiences, and design practice, while optional modules allow students to explore areas such as design agency, designing with data, and enterprise and entrepreneurship, giving them flexibility to tailor their learning to specific interests. In the final year, students undertake advanced study through modules in advanced 3D, mixed realities, and advanced design practice, with optional modules covering media and social change, film and TV adaptation, film marketing and distribution, video gaming, and design futures and emerging technology, allowing students to specialise in areas aligned with their career ambitions. Throughout the program, students develop creativity, problem-solving, technical proficiency, and an understanding of emerging technologies, preparing them to create engaging interactive experiences. Graduates leave equipped to pursue careers in digital media, interactive design, immersive technologies, gaming, and other creative and technology-driven fields, combining innovation with practical expertise.
