COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Business Information Technology program at Kent combines business knowledge with practical computing skills to prepare students for careers at the intersection of technology and commerce. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in programming, internet technologies, human-computer interaction, computing fundamentals, and financial accounting, equipping them with both technical skills and an understanding of core business concepts. The second year develops these skills further with database systems, web development, software development, operations management, project management, and business ethics, enabling students to tackle real-world business challenges using technology. In the final year, students focus on enterprise and entrepreneurship, as well as a collaborative group project, while having the opportunity to tailor their studies with optional modules in areas such as information security management, business strategy, human resources, corporate social responsibility, video games development, computational intelligence, eHealth, and data mining. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience, problem-solving abilities, and industry-relevant skills that are highly valued by employers. By integrating computing expertise with business understanding, graduates are well-prepared to contribute to digital transformation, develop innovative solutions, and take on roles in IT consultancy, systems management, data analysis, e-commerce, and technology-driven business initiatives, ensuring they can meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy.
