COURSE CURRICULUM

This bioscience program provides a progressive and comprehensive understanding of the molecular, cellular, and physiological foundations of life while equipping students with essential experimental and analytical skills. In the first year, students develop a solid grounding in experimental techniques, data analysis, and core concepts such as molecules of life, human anatomy and physiology, the chemistry of life, and evolutionary processes, establishing the basis for advanced study. The second year builds on this foundation through compulsory modules in molecular genetics, cellular organization, metabolism and metabolic regulation, microbiology, and further development of scientific independence. At this stage, students also have the opportunity to specialize by selecting optional modules such as immunology or neuroscience, broadening their expertise in key areas of modern bioscience. The final year emphasizes research, professional development, and advanced topics. Students undertake a research project that fosters independent investigation, critical thinking, and practical application of their knowledge, alongside compulsory study of protein structure and function. Optional modules provide opportunities to explore specialized and cutting-edge areas such as virology, cancer biology, ageing, bioinformatics, and science communication, preparing graduates for diverse scientific careers or further academic research while emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
